Centrelink Benefits
If you are working or studying for more than 15 hours a week you will be entitled to 50 hours of care for Childcare Benefit (CCB) and Childcare Rebate (CCR). If you are not working or studying for at least 15 hours, you will only be entitled to 24 hours. We charge each day as 10 hours so Centrelink would only rebate 24 hours and the full amount would then need to be paid.
Childcare Benefit (CCB) is income assessed, so depending on what your combined gross income is for the financial year depends on your CCB. The CCB reduces you childcare expense as it gets paid directly to the centre and automatically gets deducted off your account. This happens weekly as we submit attendances weekly. You may also choose to have a zero CCB rate and claim the CCB at the end of the financial year, which would be paid directly into your bank account.
Childcare Rebate (CCR) - This is not Income assessed and gets capped at a total amount for the financial year. For 2013/2014 the amount is $7500.00 per child per year.
